Fashion Enter (Garment Factory in London)
Sorry I haven’t been posting in a while, I have had five deadlines for uni and I have been stressedddd, especially deciding what to do my final project on, but I think I have finally decided what I want to do.
So I finished work placement last week which was pretty sad as I really enjoyed it and definitely wanted to get a job there, but oh well back to normality.
I was back to uni yesterday and had a talk with the CEO of Asos, which was really interesting and it was a question and answer type of master class. It was interesting to see how asos has grown from ‘As Seen On Screen’ to what we see Asos as currently.
Today wasn’t a normal day at uni either. We was all told to meet in Finsbury park as we was going to get the bus to Fashion Enter, a UK based factory which produces garments for mainly Asos, but for other brands like M&S and Hobbs. It was really intriguing to find out about the other side of the fashion industry which I haven’t really learned about.
We was greeted by the director, Jenni Sutton who gave us a brief but informative presentation and was given a tour by the Production Director, Caroline Ash who gave us a more in depth view of the factory.
They showed us around the factory and how there are different sections of the factory depending on the quantity of the order, and we learned that order prices are extremely higher if it is a smaller purchase.
I'm really glad I attended the visit, it gave me a real insight in the whole process of fashion retail.
On another note, we was papped and appeared on the Fashion Capital Instagram story which was also exciting! I'm in the yellow puffer coat, excuse my rough look, I've got a cold and feeling sorry for myself!
