H&M x Giambattista Valli
Hi guys,
Hope you are all well and ready for a few posts I have cooked up ready and scheduled for the next few days.
I wanted to discuss the new collaboration between H&M and Giambattista Valli. This collection has been highly sought after by fashion guru's, and it is dropping tomorrow (7/11/2019)! The capsule collection is available online from 8am (trust me to have my alarm set for 7:30) and is also available in store, with some of the collection being available online only.
So, lets discuss Giambattista Valli. He is an Italian designer, for the Haute Couture Market as well as Ready-to-Wear. He launched his designs in 2005, showing in Paris Fashion Week, fulfilling his dream of being a true 'Maison'.
The H&M Giambattista Valli Collection is divided into 'Valli Girls' and 'Valli Boys', generally separating the genders however, Valli has stated he wants his collaboration to be gender fluid, using the following quote:
I so want this necklace as soon as I saw it! I think it's so cool.
In the following Collages I created of the collections you can see how interchangeable the collection is, as Valli has dressed female models in some of the menswear pieces and vice versa.

The term 'Maison' in fashion generally means business or house, in this case, a fashion house
The H&M Giambattista Valli Collection is divided into 'Valli Girls' and 'Valli Boys', generally separating the genders however, Valli has stated he wants his collaboration to be gender fluid, using the following quote:
"Normally, it's women who adopt pieces from the masculine wardrobe, so I thought my men could just pick things up from the women's wardrobes" - Giambattista ValliThe idea behind the collaboration was to bring Haute Couture into the hughstreet and make it accessible to the masses. The other exciting thing is this is the first collection where Valli has created a menswear line!
"Everything is meant to be exchanged" states Valli, encouraging genders to fluidly interchange in each collection.
I so want this necklace as soon as I saw it! I think it's so cool.

The following video is the full fashion show, which is amazing might I add, posted to Youtube by Fashion Feed.
Thank you for reading! I am very excited for this collection.. and knowing collaborations by H&M, the resale price will be much higher than retail price.. so if you want a piece from the collection you need to be up early and on your computer or in that queue in time for stores to open and the online access to open! Good Luck! I'd also love to know if you get anything, so contact me on my blog if you do :)
Mitch
