FILA Spring/Summer 2020

Hi Guys,

I'm not sure if you have been keeping track of the fashion weeks, but a few weeks ago (22nd September) it was Milan fashion week for the following season (SS2020) and I just wanted to write a post about a favourite of mine so far which is the Fila fashion show.

Now it is interesting to see this show as we've all had Fila's, and they appealed to many young individuals from last year with the iconic disruptor trainers, which I am guilty of buying because they are so cool, stylish and reasonably priced. As well as a recent collaboration with Fendi, it is no surprise that they have produced a collection which would create enough hype to make the runway.

This collection also appeared on Vogue Runway which is where I will be obtaining most photographs for this post, as obviously I wouldn't have been able to attend and take my own photos, so photo credits for this post do go to Vogue Runway. (I usually hate using photos which I haven't taken myself but due to the circumstances it is something that is needed to be done).

I just wanted to post my favourite looks from the sporty and retro collection.

Fila See Now Buy Now: SS20 Collection

The collection also adhere's to the new way of fashion shows, the see it buy it now. Although the season is supposed to be an SS20 collection, that is, to be worn and available for the season of Spring/Summer 2020, it is available now for customers to shop, if they really really want it. I mean, I'd love a few pieces from the collection, but I think it is quite overpriced. You can shop the collection in the link above.

Throughout the runway, iridescent gradients have been used as a push in the 2020 trends, as well as steering away from just jersey material Fila have used other detailing to make their first runway show more interesting. By the looks of it, sliders will still be trending and Fila have used metallic detailing as part of their collection also.

Big sunglasses are still trending, most likely still a phase trickled down from Kim Kardashian's huge sunglasses which everyone, including me, deemed as a 'look'. Water detailing in pale blue pushes the Spring/summer in the collection.

Sporty dresses with metallic heels was definitely a vibe throughout the show, making sportswear trendy and acceptable to wear for most occasions. This collection makes Fila more of a luxury sportswear brand compared to a low-market hughstreet brand, well, it gives that feel anyway.

Although a mid-year collection, it does still rain a lot in Spring, and occasionally in the Summer, therefore thin, lightweight rain pullovers are also a stylish addition to the collection, another piece which Fila specialises in, having rain jackets sold in stores since I can remember.

Who wants the metallic duffle bag?? For the gym or just to walk down the street and be looked at, lol.

Finally, my last but not least favourite piece is this rain mac! Very blue, and very stand-out! This would be so cool as part of a festival outfit.

Fila has 100% come a long way from being a 90's classic to nearly a couture sportswear brand making it from the hughstreet to the runway! I really love this concept of brands adhering to multiple markets.

Will I cop anything? Maybe xx

Hope you enjoy !
